About me

I am a pursuing my Ph.D as a member of the Visual Recognition Group, Czech Technical University in Prague, under the supervision of Professor Ondrej Chum.

My research focuses on learning image representations that are universal, in the sense of being applicable to a large number of visual domains simultaneously, and that are scalable, so they can be used in large-scale realistic settings. I am mainly interested in visual domains that are either on the fine-grained or instance level.

Previously, I obtained my Engineering Diploma (5 year degree) at the school of Electrical & Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. My major was in Computer Science with a specialization on Deep Learning and its applications to Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.

During the final year of my Diploma studies, I was also a Research Intern at the Visual Recognition Group, Czech Technical University in Prague under the supervision of Assistant Professor Giorgos Tolias. There, I worked on Instance-Level Recognition, a special kind of visual recognition that aims to recognize specific instances of objects and not only their semantic class.
